Legacy

"Rather than a tale of greed, the history of luxury could more accurately be read as a record of emotional trauma. It is the legacy of those who have felt pressured by the disdain of others to add an extraordinary amount to their bare selves in order to signal that they too may lay a claim to love."

A colleague of mine and me actually came up with the idea of a muse escort agency today, with pretty strict regulations laid out in the individual muses' contracts as to what they would do and what not, like, say, "Giovanni, especially popular with budding cartoonists plagued by writer's block. Will throw shapes and pull funny grimaces. Will not pose in the nude or be covered with paint. Also available in a special discount package with earnest counterpart Dario. Price of early morning imagination spurring activities subject to booking fees."

Coke-headed wannabe Apollonians might just fall for it. If one is to believe that lovely thesis of luxury you've laid out there.

Do you take orders? there is that screenplay that has to be finished, and those damn muses of mine are lazy b******.

Well, since you already seem to be in the process of writing it, just put an abrupt end to it, hand it in and claim that there's meant to be room for a sequel after all. Use talking animals as narrative device to add an anthropomorphically unsettling edge to the story. Undermine common intonational meaning-creation conventions by having the main protagonists stress usually unstressed syllables in their lines. Establish a causal relationship between the characters' behavior in a queue and their sex life. Use at least one 60-year-old man in a pastel-coloured apron and a mauve tie. Make sure all the atmospheric background sounds harmonize in three quarter time. Think out of the box, like!
